Ann HamiterAnn Bennett became Ann Hamiter in April 2010 when she married Wes Hamiter. Wes is a sales associate with AmmSteel in Vestavia Hills. Ann attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is Vice President of Retail Banking for the Vestavia Hills branch of Pinnacle Bank. Ann began her career as a teller with Pinnacle Bank in 1997. She was promoted to her current position in October 2010. Ann is a graduate of the Alabama Banking School in Mobile, AL. She enjoys “working for a strong, growing, community bank” in the city where she also resides. Ann’s professional goals are to “help my clients obtain their financial needs while continuing to grow the Pinnacle Bank footprint in the city of Vestavia Hills and Jefferson County”.Ann is an alumna of the 2008-2009 Leadership Vestavia Hills class and is currently serving as President. She has been a board member of LVH since completing her class. Ann’s comments regarding her involvement in LVH: “I believe in Leadership Vestavia Hills and the purpose of its mission. Many projects and leaders in this city have originated from this great group of people. I really do enjoy being involved in the community; particularly with Leadership Vestavia Hills. It will remain a priority of mine to be involved with this group, long after I have completed my term as President of Leadership Vestavia Hills.” Ann is also involved in other civic organizations. She is currently serving as the Vice President of Community Affairs for the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Ann earned the Director’s Choice Award for the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce in 2010 and the Ambassador of the Year Award in 2008. Ann is a charter member of the Vestavia Hills Civitan Club where she has served on the board for five years. Mayor Butch Zaragoza recently appointed Ann to serve on the Christmas 2011 Holiday in the Hills planning committee. Ann still considers herself to be a newlywed. Ann and Wes were married in April 2010. Regarding their marriage and their relationship, Ann states: “Wes is very supportive of my activities in the community. He is my right hand in working in the community”. Ann and Wes also believe it to be important to their relationship to have a weekly date night. “We try to have a date once a week unless its football season. We then flex our schedule by inviting friends over for the games.” Ann is an Auburn fan and Wes is an Alabama fan. As she states about their football rivalry: “We enjoy the competition and try to respect each others feelings on the games, but secretly, we cheer for the opposing team.” The Leadership Vestavia Hills Board of Directors is proud to have Ann serve as President this year!Alumni' Spotlight Archives |
